JKS Scotland are proud to announce the forthcoming Special Gasshuku Course to be held 11th -13th December at the Inverkeithing High School Dunfermline with special guest instructors Matsue Sensei 4th Dan JKS Honbu Dojo Japan, Scott Langley Sensei 5th Dan JKS Ireland and Kamal Helou Sensei 4th Dan JKS Lebanon.
Matsue Sensei is a 28yr old 4th Dan direct from the JKS Honbu Dojo in Japan with an impressive career history for such a young exponent of the karate world. In 2003 he graduated from Waseda University and in the same year he also started the JKS instructor course, graduating from this course in 2007. He was a silver medallist in the 2006 JKS National Championships in kata followed by bronze medals in both kata and kumite at the 2007 Okinawa World Karate Championships. He is currently a full time instructor at the JKS Honbu Dojo in Japan.
Scott Sensei 5th Dan was a regular competitor in major competitions winning both in kata and kumite, the national championships five times, European championships three times and the 1996 World Championships in Moscow. He is also one of a handful of non Japanese practitioners to graduate from the intensive JKS Instructor programme in Japan. Scott was determined to develop JKS karate so he then moved to Dublin Ireland where he is now a full time instructor teaching throughout Ireland, UK and Europe. Scott Sensei is the technical director for the JKS in Ireland and is without doubt one of the finest technicians of the modern era.
Kamal Sensei 4th Dan has recently moved to Lebanon to establish JKS karate in the region. He recently graduated from the JKS instructor programme in Japan having lived there for around 8yrs. He was the Kanto area kata champion and a finalist in the all Japan Karate championships. He trained at the world famous Teikyo University for several years.
